Contest Rules
Official Rules for the Inaugural and Incredibly Cool “Win a Deck Autographed by Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald and 23 Other Pros” Contest, Benefiting the Ann Arbor Skatepark Fund at the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation
The super familiar stuff: No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Some restrictions apply. You need not be present to win.
The contest: From February 14, 2010, through March 10, 2010, the Ann Arbor Skatepark Action Committee will promote, at www.crowdrise.com/a2skatepark, the opportunity to submit entries to win a killer grand prize: a Tony Hawk skateboard deck, autographed by Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald and 23 fellow pros.
How to enter: Go to www.crowdrise.com and create a personal page (this takes approximately 17.2 seconds if you do it with your eyes open). Then navigate over to the Skateparks’ page at www.crowdrise.com/a2skatepark and donate exactly $26 to the Skatepark. That’s it. You’re done. All $26 contributions received between right now and 10:17 AM Eastern on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 will be automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win the deck. Contestants may enter as many times as they like, by making multiple $26 donations to the Skatepark. It sure can’t hurt.
Eligibility: Contestants must be 18 years old or have the consent of a parent or guardian to enter. Since donations to Crowdrise are made by credit card or PayPal, entrants must be the named individuals on the card or account, or authorized users. If you’re under 18, ask your parents. Don’t mess around—this is serious. Entrants found to have violated this clause will be disqualified.
Delivery: Contestants may enter from anywhere in the world, but the Ann Arbor Skatepark Action Committee will only be responsible for paying shipping and handling of the grand prize to addresses within the contiguous 48 states. If you’re the winner and you want us to mail the prize to you anywhere outside the lower 48, we’ll be super happy for you, but you’ll have to pay the full cost of shipping, handling and insurance.
Members of the Ann Arbor Skatepark Action Committee and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter or play. Sorry, gang.
How to win: It’s a drawing, so being lucky helps. The winner will be selected in a random drawing conducted from all qualified entries on or about Saturday, March 13, 2010. If the winner does not meet the Official Rules or eligibility requirements, the Committee will hold a second drawing to determine a new winner. This process will continue until the Grand Prize is awarded.
The decision of the judges and the Committee is final. If the Grand Prize winner is not present at the drawing, he/she will be notified by e-mail, so please provide your address. The Committee, its partners and sponsors are not responsible for illegible, lost, delayed or misdirected submissions, errors in the donation process, contributions of amounts other than $26, or incomplete entries.
Grand Prize: One Grand Prize winner will receive a Tony Hawk skate deck autographed by Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald and 23 other pro skaters. There are no other prizes. There is nothing cooler we could give you.
The Grand Prize is transferable at the discretion of the winner: you won it, you can do anything you like with it. The Committee reserves the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value in the event the original prize is unavailable for any reason. The winner, their parent or legal guardian is solely responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes.
By participating in the contest you, your parent or legal guardian release(s), indemnify(/ies) and hold(s) harmless the Ann Arbor Skatepark Committee or its partners and sponsors, including Crowdrise from any and all harm, expense, liability or injury arising from participation in the sweepstakes or acceptance or use of the prize. You also grant us the right to use your name, likeness, photograph, voice and biographical data for any purpose, in any media, unless prohibited by law.
The Grand Prize will not be released until the Committee receives payment of the winner’s $26 pledge. Failure to fulfill the pledge within 30 days after notification will result in automatic forfeiture of the prize.
Unforeseen Events: the Committee reserves the right to change this contest at any time if we become aware of circumstances that would affect the contest’s fairness. The Committee reserves the right to announce these rules changes in whatever medium we deem appropriate. The Committee is not responsible for the inability of the winner to accept the prize for any reason.
List of Winners: To receive the name of the winner, send a request to info@a2skatepark.org before July 1, 2010.
To be entered in the drawing without making a $26 donation, send an e-mail to info@a2skatepark.org with your name and contact information and a request to be entered. But, c’mon, don’t be a jerk: like you’re going to enter this drawing without supporting the Skatepark?
